One of the things my Brides can’t quite believe is how long we need to allow for a Bridal Hair and Make up trial!

How long will my Hair and Make up trial take?

The first thing to remember when booking in for a hair and make up trial before your wedding day is that when there are 2 services involved we need plenty of time. As a general rule, I always advise 2-4hrs for this appointment and we are usually at the 4 hrs end of the spectrum. This is our opportunity to have a great consultation where I listen to your ideas and advise you with what direction we can go in given your hair type, length and texture. I want you to feel completely at ease and the session will never feel rushed.

Before the Trial

Before the day of your hair and make up trial I will ask for pictures of you so that I can see your skin tone and how you normally wear your make up so I can gauge what you are comfortable with. I’ll also ask to see any Pinterest/instagram pics you’ve found for hair or make up inspiration so I have a great idea of your likes and dislikes. Believe me, it is just as useful to hear about what you don’t like as it helps me build up an idea if your taste. We of course take into consideration your dress, venue and general feel of the wedding.

On the Day of the Trial

You will be advised ahead of the appointment about washing your hair the night before unless you hair type cannot handle that, and Sorry ladies but a bare naked face is also on my request list.
It is then time to decide on a plan. I will prep your hair and skin as if it were your actual wedding day and we can see what looks good on you and makes you feel a million dollars. I invite you to bring your Make up bag and we can pour through your goodies and see what your favourite products are.
You are welcome to bring a friend or mum along, but I advise you keep it to one person as it can get too confusing with too many opinions. Same goes for not trying too many styles as that can become stressful and overwhelming. You can rest assured I will be there to guide you to your perfect look where you don’t want to stop looking at yourself and feel sad when I take the hair architecture down at the end.
I allow time to take plenty of images of which you can have and it is a good record for me to keep with Trials sometimes being 6 months in advance.
So settle in and enjoy the exciting transformations. I can guarantee I will be just as excited as you!
